PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control reproduction by using contents data matching recording and reproduction of picture.audio data to/from a disk recording medium and generating management data to realize a virtual recording medium on the basis of the contents data. SOLUTION: Contents data expressing an identifier of contents of picture.audio data and a start position of the contents on a recording medium and a data length of the contents expressed in number of frames are received, and data stored in a picture.audio data storage means 3 are managed according to the contents data. Thus, the recording/reproduction length off the picture.audio data can be counted in terms of number of frames and the reproduction control of the picture.audio data can be made efficient from the disk recording medium.
