PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily attach/detach a monitor to/from a camera main body in the case where the monitor is designed freely turnably with respect to the camera main body and to reduce the number of part items. SOLUTION: This electronic still camera is provided with a camera main body 10 and a monitor 100 having an image display section 102. A recessed part 14 is formed in the camera main body 10 and 1st and 2nd main body engagement section 32, 34 are formed respectively in 1st and 2nd recessed side faces 14a, 14b. First and second monitor engagement sections 132, 134 whose projection amounts are variable are formed in 1st and 2nd monitor side faces 100a, 100b. The 1st and 2nd main body engagement sections 32, 34 and the 1st and 2nd monitor engagement sections 132, 134 are engaged with are another to connect the monitor 100 freely furnably and electrically to the camera main body 10.
