PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optically reduce color deviation at successive reading of color images, while switching light sources in three colors by allowing plural light sources to successively emit lights in the order of the color light according to higher or lower resolution. SOLUTION: Original images successively irradiated with three light sources 3a, 3b, and 3c which emit red, green, and blue color lights are image-formed through mirrors 4a, 4b, and 4c on a line linear sensor 1 face being an optical converting element by an optical lens 2, and optically converted so that the image signal of each color light can be outputted. The emitted color lights are red, green, and blue, and the optical lens 2 in which the resolution of red is the highest, and green is the second, and blue is the third is used. The lamps are successively turned on in the order of the high resolution, that is red, green, and blue by using the optical lens 2, and when a resolution chart line in parallel with a main direction is read, the color deviation of red color components is left at one side of the line. In this case, the color deviation components of blue can be prevented from becoming conspicuous, and the apparent color deviation can be reduced.
