PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent distortion caused by clipping of a signal due to over-rise of the sound volume and to automatically raise the sound volume to the most suitable one with one operation with respect to the sound volume regulator used in various acoustic apparatus including an acoustic adjustment console. SOLUTION: A margin detection means 7 which calculates a rise limit sound volume margin in accordance with the difference between a maximum value of the output of a sound volume regulator 2 and a maximum input level of a device connected to an output terminal 3, a control means 8 which controls a sound volume regulator 2 by the detected margin to raise the sound volume, and an operation means 9 which gives a control start command to the control means 8 are provided. An operator operates the operation means 9 only once to automatically rise the sound volume to the most suitable one.
