PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a prepaid card system whose reliability is high. SOLUTION: A reading device 100 reads a card ID recorded at a prescribed position on a prepaid card, and transmits it to a repeater system 200. The repeater system 200 retrieves the recording position of variable information corresponding to the card ID from a file, and communicates it to the reading device 100. The reading device 100 reads the variable information from the communicated position on the prepaid card. At the time of ejecting the prepaid card, the reading device 100 transmits the card ID and updated balance information to the repeater system 200. The repeater system 200 calculates the recording position of the variable information based on the card ID and the balance information, and stores it for the next use. Moreover, the repeater system 200 communicates the calculated position information to the reading device 100. The reading device 100 writes the variable information in the communicated position. |
