PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a distribution compensating optical transmission line and system capable of stably transmitting a WDM signal light over a long distance. SOLUTION: Until the 5 relay of 6 relay spans, distribution compensating fibers 40-1 to 40-5 compensate the accumulated wavelength distribution (and a distribution slope) of each wavelength so that the accumulated wavelength distribution of respective wavelengths λ1 to λn after compensating distribution may vary with respect to a distance (z) with Dlocal as inclination. A distribution compensating fiber 40-6 belonging to the last relay span of 6 relay spans reduces the accumulated wavelength distribution of the respective wavelengths λ1 to λn to an accumulated wavelength distributed value equivalent to a value Davg×z obtained by multiplying a transmission distance (z) to Davg. Dlocal is larger than Davg. Hereafter, this constitution is repeated by the unit of 6 relay spans. |
