PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance at a low temperature by constructing an air electrode of particles with a specific mean grain size and a specific composition and particles surrounding these particles and having a specific mean grain size and a Ce-including composition and specifying porosity within a specific range. SOLUTION: This fuel cell uses a fuel electrode as a base board and comprises a single cell constructed of an electrolyte layer formed on the base board and an air electrode film formed on the electrolyte layer. The air electrode consists of particles having a means grain size of 1-10 μm and a composition of (A1-xBx)(C1-yDy)O(3+δ) and particles surrounding these particles and having a mean grain size of 0.1-2 μm and a composition of Ce1-xExO(2-δ), and its porosity ranges 20-50%, while 0.5-50 wt.% of Ce1-xExO(2-δ). In this case, A represents La, Y, Sm and the like, B represents Sr, Ba and the like, C represents Mn, Co and the like, while 0<=x<=0.50, 0<=y<=0.50. |
