摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method and apparatus for making granular ice in which the size and cost of the apparatus can be reduced while simplifying the structure by performing gas/liquid separation of refrigerant in the granular ice making apparatus thereby eliminating the need of any special gas/liquid separating means, ice making efficiency is enhanced by making ice efficiently at the cooling section while reducing power required for making ice, the deposition of granular ice in the apparatus is avoided, and the granular ice can be carried out smoothly. SOLUTION: When granular ice 20 is made by cooling a solution with refrigerant, the solution is passed through an annular solution passage 18 to exchange heat with refrigerant flowing through a refrigerant channel isolated from the solution passage 18 by a channel wall under supercooled state. Ice particles and condensed solution are then passed through the passage while turning a hollow rotary tube 4 having holes communicating between the inner and outer circumferences. Subsequently, they are passed through the rotary tube 4 and mixed with low concentration solution in the rotary tube 4 thus making granular ice 20.</p>
