PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a circuit scale and a circuit configuration and to reduce the cost by solving problems of a conventional progressive scanning double speed signal output method so as to eliminate the need for a frame memory. SOLUTION: Since a signal is read as a progressive scanning double speed signal in the case of reading from a display buffer 130 and outputted being converted into an interlaced scanning standard speed signal when necessary, an interlaced scanning standard speed signal is obtained by interleaving the above signal for each line. Consequently, no frame memory or the like is required, and in the case that the progressive scanning double speed signal and the interlaced scanning standard speed signal are switched or they are simultaneously outputted, the circuit scale and the circuit configuration can remarkably be simplified and the cost can be reduced.
