PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system improved in reliability in spite of simple configuration. SOLUTION: A data sending means 6 sends data to be transmitted to a data transmission line 24 for prescribed bits every time synchronously with a clock. A transmission state sending means 8 sends a transmission state showing either under data transmission (transmission non-completion state) or completion of data transmission for prescribed bits (transmission completion state) to a state signal line 26. A data receiving means 12 of reception equipment 20 acquires data from the data transmission line 24 synchronously with the clock. A reception state sending means 16 sends a reception state showing either under data reception (reception non-completion state) or completion of data reception for prescribed bits (reception completion state) to a reception state signal line 28. On the basis of the transmission state from the transmission state sending means 8 and the reception state from the reception equipment 20, an abnormality detecting means 10 of transmission equipment 2 detects communication abnormality.
