SOUND PRESSURE LEVEL MEASURING METHOD AND ITS DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound pressure level measuring method and its device capable of obtaining sound pressure levels in frequency bands necessary for measurements in a short time. SOLUTION: This measuring device is provided with an A/D converter 3 to convert a sound pressure signal collected by a microphone 1 from analogue form into digital form, an initial data storage means 4 to store the A/D converted quantized data, a digital low-pass filter 6 and a digital high-pass filter 8 to impose band restriction on the quantized data, a passed-data storage means 5 to store the quantized data passed through the digital low-pass filter 6, and a sound pressure level computing means 10 to compute the sound pressure level of each frequency band from the band-restricted quantized data. Quantized data to be used at the time of computing pressure levels in low frequency bands is selected from among data stored in the passed-data storage means 5.
