PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of accurately and stably controlling the surface temperature of a fixing rotating body by detecting the surface temperature of the fixing rotating body with good responsiveness by using a non-contact type surface temperature detection means, and detecting the surface temperature at plural spots on the fixing rotating body by using one no-contact type surface temperature detection means. SOLUTION: This image forming device is equipped with the non-contact type surface temperature detection means 60 provided in a non-contact state with the surface of the fixing rotating body 51 in order to detect the surface temperature of the rotating body 51, a control means controlling the heating of the rotating body 51 by heating means 53 and 54 based on a surface temperature signal outputted by the detection means 60 in accordance with the surface temperature of the rotating body 51, and a surface temperature detecting direction changing means 63 changing the detecting direction of the detection means 60 so that the surface temperature at least at two spots in a direction orthogonal to the carrying direction of recording material on the rotating body 51 can be detected.
