摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make performable a high density recording with a simple structure by providing a means which brings the edge of a nearfield optical write fiber into contact with a recording medium, a contact detecting means which detects contact and a means which separates the edge of the nearfield write fiber from the recording medium at a fixed distance after the contact detection by the contact detecting means. SOLUTION: A piezoelectric element obtained by inserting optical fibers through the inside of a cylinder and fixing them to the lower part of the cylinder expands and contracts when an equal voltage is applied to facing electrodes 21 and 23, can focus the optical fibers and can perform tracking correction because it is bent when voltages of reverse polarities are applied to facing electrodes 22 and 24 respectively. Further, electrode 41 for contact detection can detect a contact by detecting voltage generated in the piezoelectric element when the tip end of the optical fiber comes into contact with a recording medium. After detecting the contact, the voltage application quantity of the electrodes 21 and 23 is changed so that the distance between the optical fiber edge and the recording medium can be a prescribed value, and the optical fiber edge is set to a fixed focus position.
