PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having excellent regenerative (charge) characteristics, no short-circuiting and insured safety, by properly setting the thickness and the porosity of a separator between a positive electrode and a negative electrode. SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery 10 formed by dipping an electrode 14 formed by laminating a positive electrode 16 containing a metal oxide capable of occluding and discharging lithium in its positive electrode active material and a negative electrode 18 containing the carbon oxide capable of occluding and discharging lithium in its negative electrode active material with the intervention of a separator 20 in lithium ion conductive and nonaqueous organic electrolyte, the thickness of the separator 20 is set in a range of 10 μm-30 μm, and the porosity of the separator 20 is set in a range of 30-65%. |
