PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable which allows the taking out of optical fiber cores with simple work and features excellent workability. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable has the at least one optical fiber cores 1a and 1b, a sheath 4 of synthetic resin material covering the circumference of the optical fiber cores 1a and 1b and at least two tear cords 3a and 3b embedded in nearly parallel with the optical fiber cores in the sheath 4. The tear cords 3a and 3b are arrayed to face each other across the optical fiber cores and the spacings between the tear cords and the outer edges of the optical fiber cores adjacent to the outer edges are set at nearly <=2/3 the distances from the outer edge of the sheath to the outer edges of the optical fiber cores.
