PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera where low cost is achieved and with a highly reliable battery checking function. SOLUTION: In this camera, a boosting circuit 35, a regulator circuit 36 necessary for checking battery, a voltage output circuit for checking 37 and a switching circuit 38 to turn on and turn off the regulator circuit 36 and the voltage output circuit for checking 37 in unison are put together as one IC 39. Turning on and off of the boosting circuit 35 at a 1st port P1 is controlled by a micro computer 30. Turning on and off of the voltage output circuit for checking 37 and the regulator circuit 36 is controlled at a 2nd port P2 through the switching circuit 38.
