PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening a fusion bonded connector of an optical fiber capable of easily dealing with the case of desiring to alter a value of a strength guarantee of the connector of the fiber to be inspected or changing number of the connectors of the fiber to be inspected without complicating a structure of a screening apparatus and a method for screening a fusion bonded connector of an optical fiber capable of displaying a value of its strength guarantee by a tensile strength. SOLUTION: Grasping parts of clamping units 14 of optical fibers 2, 3 after fusion bonding connection are approached to one another at a predetermined distance, and fusion bonded connectors 20 of the fibers 2, 3 are bent. Thus, a tensile force of a predetermined magnitude is generated at a bending direction outer peripheral side of the connector 20 is generated, thereby obtaining that the connector 20 can endure against the tensile force of a predetermined magnitude. |
