Chestnut flour confectionary has added chopped dried fruit, spices, flavourings and optional chopped nuts. The confectionary is made from uncooked chestnut flour mixed with chopped dried fruit to give it a cohesive consistency (e.g. 1 kg of chestnut flour to 1.2 kg of chopped sultanas. The mixture is enhanced with spices and flavourings, and with the optional addition of chopped nuts e.g. hazel nuts, almonds, pistachios or pine kernels, cut into portions and wrapped to protect from humidity or excessive dryness. |
