PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable radio terminal whose communication function can be stopped by a user itself without relying on a service company when the portable radio terminal is lost. SOLUTION: This portable radio terminal 10 is provided with a memory 24 that stores a password to instruct on function stop and with a CPU 26 that requests transmission of the password to instruct on the function stop when receiving an instruction of the function stop from a connected opposite station via an antenna 22 and a radio section 21, compares the received password with the password stored in the memory 24 and stops the dialing function when they are coincident. Thus, when the portable radio terminal is lost, the user can cancel the use of the portable radio terminal possessed by the user immediately by having only to send the password to instruct on the function stop to the portable radio terminal possessed by the user so that the use of the portable radio terminal by a 3rd party can be prevented.
