PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the lowering of heat exchanging efficiency and the increase of pressure loss due to wall surface resistance by a structure wherein a container being cut with a plane perpendicular to the advancing direction of passing gas and a heat exchanging body being cut with a plane have a right hexagonal cross-section and a heat storage body is robust. SOLUTION: The heat storage body has a container containing a heat storage body having honeycomb structure and exchanges heat with passing gas wherein the container 22 being cut with a plane perpendicular to the advancing direction of passing gas and a heat exchanging body 7 being cut with a plane have a right hexagonal cross-section. When the heat exchanging body is contained in a container having right hexagonal cross-section, cross-section of the container 22 can be reduced significantly as compared with rectangular or square cross-section because the inner angle of a right hexagon is 120 deg. which is larger than that of rectangle or square and the right hexagon is approximate to a circle.
