PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an operator in a normal operating posture to easily confirm the presence or absence of a paper in a discharged paper storing part, as for an image forming device which is constituted so that the image reading part may be separated from the image forming part. SOLUTION: A bracket 22 is attached to the side part of the image reading part 20, and a slide rail 23 is attached to an arm 21 for supporting the image reading part and the bracket 22, respectively, and then, assembled, then, the slide part 23 is interposed between the image reading part 20 and the arm 21, then, the image reading part 20 is made movable toward the front or rear side of the image forming part in the depth direction of the image forming part. By moving the image reading part 20 toward the rear side of the device after finishing the image forming operation, the operator can confirm the presence or absence of the paper in the discharged paper storing part when the operator looks downward while standing in front of the image forming device, while hardly interrupting the operator's visual field.
