PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a level to freely set gradients and measure the gradients by widening the usable range of the block by attaching a gauge which can be put in and out from the block to one side of the block. SOLUTION: An insertable/removable gauge 2 is attached to one side of a level 1 with a ball nut 3. At the time of using the level 1, a gradient is set by taking out the gauge 2 and the gauge 2 is fixed with the ball nut 3. Then, while the level 1 is maintained horizontally, the gradient of an object is measured by reading the value of the gauge 2 by putting the gauge 2 in and out from the level 1. This level 1 can be used as a level when the gauge 2 is put in the level 1. Since the gauge 2 is attached to the level 1, errors can be reduced and the accuracy can be improved by standard sizes.
