<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor a person who is taking a bath so as not to fall down and sink in a bathtub during bathing by detecting light from a light emitter to be received by a light receiver, monitoring whether the person keeps his/her consciousness during bathing on the basis of a detected light signal and outputting a warning signal when the person is judged to have last his/her consciousness. SOLUTION: When the person enters a bathtub 103, part of his/her body is located higher than the level of the water filled in the bathtub 103 when the normal position of the person is held in the bathtub. An optical path of a beam 11 emitted from the light emitter 1 is formed at a position of the height of the person's body. When the person in the bathtub 103 loses his/her consciousness for some reasons and sinks in the bathtub 103, an object to shield the light 11 from the light emitter 1 disappears, and the intensity of the light to be received by the light receiver 2 becomes larger. The signal obtained from the light receiver 2 is monitored for a specified period, and when the light intensity does not become equal to or less than a specified value, it is judged that the person has sunk in the bathtub 103 and an alarm raising signal and a control signal are transmitted to an alarm raising means 4 and a hot water draining means 5.</p> |
