PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin holding function in a coin housing and discharging device 51 and to perform miniaturization and simplification. SOLUTION: A partition member 61 is moved to a partition position, a belt member 53 is partitioned into a holding space 62 and a housing space 63 and coins received from a coin receiving port 40 are held in the holding space 62. At the time of housing the held coins, the partition member 61 is moved to a communicating position and the held coins are moved to the housing space 63 by the belt member 53. At the time of returning the held coins, while keeping the partition member 61 at the partition position, the held coins are sent to a coin discharging port 71 by the belt member 53 and controlled to be one and discharged by a control means 72. A part on the belt member 53 for storing/ discharging the coins is utilized and the coin holding function is provided.
