PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat exchanger in which the weight and cost are reduced by providing an inlet/outlet pipe member interconnecting the outer piping in a heat exchanger and a coupling being coupled with the end of outer piping for introducing/delivering heat exchanging medium, and a holding member made of a plate material thereby enhancing joint between the heat exchanger and the coupling. SOLUTION: The heat exchanger 1 has a pair of opposite header sections 2, 3 and the header section 3 is jointed with a coupling 6 being coupled with the end of outer piping for introducing a heat exchanging medium, e.g. a refrigerant, into the heat exchanger 1. On the other hand, the header section 2 is jointed with a coupling 8 being coupled with piping 7 for delivering the heat exchanging medium from the heat exchanger. The coupling 8 has an outlet pipe member 9 interconnecting the outer piping 7 and the inside of the heat exchanger 1, and a member (pad) 10 for holding the pipe member 9. The holding member 10 is formed by bending a plate member. The outlet pipe member 9 and the holding member 10 are composed of an aluminum alloy.
