PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly assemble an illumination tool in a microscope because heat generation by a light emitting diode is restrained to be small by providing an illumination tool main body with a light emitting diode and a battery inside and assembling a cap to which a switch incorporating variable resistor with a knob is attached in the illumination tool main body by a setscrew. SOLUTION: The illumination tool main body 1 is provided with proper shape 1-1 for attaching to the microscope. The light emitting diode 2 is fixed in the main body 1 and the main body 1 is provided with a socket 3 connected to the battery 4. The cap 8 to which the switch incorporating variable resistor with a knob 7 is attached for adjusting illumination is assembled on the main body 1 by the setscrews 11 and 12 for fixing the cap 8 on the main body 1. By applying specified voltage, the diode 2 emits light. Power consumption at this time is very small and the light is emitted with extremely small heat generation, then the brightness is sufficiently used for illumination for the microscope. Then, necessary adjustment is performed by the resistor 7 attached to the main body 1 assembled in the microscope.
