PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To practically eliminate boiling over of hot water, even when the water level in a container for stream generation is high, when a container for stream generation is constituted so that the user can pour water into a container for water storage from the top. SOLUTION: This humidifier is equipped with a water storage container 13, capable of pouring water from the top, an evaporation container 15 provided with circulation function for making the water level the same as that in the water storage container 13, receiving water from this water storage container, a pipe conduit 7 for connecting this evaporation container 21 with the water storage container 13, a heater 16 for heating the water replenished through this pipe conduit 17, and a bypass pipe conduit 22 attached to the outside of the evaporation container 21 for circulating the hot water heated by this heater 16. Accordingly, this humidifier can block by means of the bypass pipe conduit 22, the hot water from flying out from the water face of the container caused by bubbles or the like going up within the container when the water level of the evaporation container 21 is high.
