The invention concerns a method for making a rubber bearing a group of stable free radicals. Said rubber can be used for making shock resistant vinyl-aromatic polymer compositions, that is compositions comprising a matrix containing a vinyl-aromatic polymer, said matrix enclosing rubber nodules (that can be called particles). Depending on the morphology of said nodules, it is possible to use advantageously the shock-resistant properties, the brightness and transparency of the shock resistant composition.
