A method for the manufacture of an innerspring assembly, suitable for a mattress, cushion or the like, comprises the steps of a) positioning a first string (6) of pocketed coil springs in juxtaposition with a plurality of adhesive applicators (12) disposed in mutually fixed relation on an axis parallel to a longitudinal axis of said first string (6), b) applying adhesi ve from said adhesive applicators (12) to said first string (6) of pocketed coi l springs, and c) bringing said first string (6) into adhesive contact with a second string (6a) of pocketed coil springs. Apparatus for carrying out the method is also disclosed, as are innerspring assemblies produced by the meth od. |
