The cerebral aneurysm clip consists of head (1), neck (2) and two jaws (3). The lower jaw has a small rounded edge (4) on its lateral surfaces that forms an obtuse angle with the upper and lower surface of the lower jaw, creating in this way a small compartment where the upper jaw can directly fit in. The upper jaw fits directly between the two small edges of the lower jaw since the rounded lateral surfaces of the upper jaw are slightly bended and they form an acute angle with the upper surface of the upper jaw and an obtuse angle with the lower surface of the upper jaw. The obtuse angle formed by the rounded lateral surfaces of the upper jaw is equal to the obtuse angle of the small rounded edges of the lateral surfaces of the lower jaw. In this way the clipping of the aneurysm neck is safer since the danger of any movement of the clip is minimized.
|
