The injection valve has a valve body (21) contg. a movable valve element (22) which presses on a valve seat (30) in the closed position and interrupts the connection between an inlet channel (23) and an injection nozzle (10) depending on the actuator(44)-controlled pressure in a control chamber (27). The valve element has a channel (31) with a choke (32) after the valve seat in the flow direction. The channel leads to a groove (33) in the valve element. A piston-shaped protrusion (37) above the groove is in contact with a bore (38) in the valve body so as to form a seal when the servovalve is closed. The bore expands radially at a distance from the upper edge of the groove so that with the valve open there is a direct connection between the valve seat and groove, leading from the channels (34-36) to the injection nozzle.
