A mechanical ice auger (100) is manufactured by fixedly attaching a plastic helical flight (110) to an axial metal shaft (102). Fungicides or biocides can be added to the plastic of the helical flight (110) to inhibit or to kill microbiological growth on the mechanical auger (100). |
