<p>A method for producing a surface treated steel sheet which comprises subjecting a steel sheet to a dipping treatment or an electrolysis treatment in an aqueous solution containing one or more of oxysulfates of Mo, Ti, V and Zr and a phosphorus compound, or in an aqueous solution further containing a significant amount of one or more of sulfates of Mg and Al; and a method for producing a surface treated steel sheet coated with a resin which comprises coating the surface treated steel sheet produced by the above method with an organic resin. The surface treated steel sheet has sufficient resistance to corrosion to replace a surface treated steel sheet which has been treated with a chromate solution, and the surface treated steel sheet coated with a resin which is prepared by the above method has sufficient adhesiveness of steel with the resin to replace such a steel sheet produced by a method comprising treating with a chromate solution.</p> |
