The invention relates to an aqueous polymer dispersion which is produced by means of a two-step emulsion polymerisation process and which consists essentially of 5 to 50 wt.% of a copolymer and 0.1 to 3 wt.% of an emulsifier with the remainder being water or/and an organic solvent. Said copolymer has a spherical or/and essentially spherical particulate form and a particle diameter of 10 to 500 nm or a coil structure and consists of 95 to 0 wt.% of at least one monomeric vinyl compound and 5 to 100 wt.% of at least one monomeric phosphoric acid ester containing a vinylidene group.
