The invention relates to an applicator for liquid media, in particular, for decorative cosmetics such as nail polish. The inventive applicator comprises a longitudinally extended, freely projecting applicator head (11) which is connected at the rear end thereof to an actuating section (12). In order to achieve a uniform and precise application of the medium, the applicator head (11) comprises a trilateral cross-section which can be configured, in particular, in the shape of a triangle. The applicator head (11) can taper on the front free end thereof from the trilateral cross-section to form a blade-like edge.
