The breaker switch has an operating drive and at least 2 contact carriers with contact fingers (2,3), for providing a releasable current path between 2 current rails. The housing (1) of the breaker switch is attached to the end of one of the current rails via isolators (4), the operating drive attached to a drive disc (5) provided with a pair of crank arms (6,8), for movement of the carriers (7,9) for the contact fingers.
