The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a thiazolidine compound of formula (I): wherein D ring is (i); wherein R is hydrogen; C1-4 alkyl, halogen or cyano; or (ii) and A is C2-6 alkylene. According to the present method, a compound of formula (I) is obtained in higher yield than t he previous method.
