The rotary anode tube includes a speed (rpm) measurement device operating on the basis of the remanence signal induced by the residual magnetisation of the rotor in the stator. Magnetically hard magnets (12-14) are mounted in the region of a stator (8) for remagnetisation and are preferably embedded in the stator. Preferably, several 'hard' magnets forming a quadrupole field are used, and magnetising parts (11,16) made of high magnetic permeability material are inserted into the rotor (2) eccentrically to the rotor axis.
