A shielding assembly to shield a user from the sun and/or the wind comprising a shield (12) and a support (11) for supporting the shield, the support (11) including at least one elongate member on which said shield is moveably mounted. Movement of the shiled (12) relative to the at least one elongate member, optionally in combination with movement of one or more of the elongate members facilitates three-dimensional movement of the shield (12) about a defined region below the at least one elongate member to enable the region to be continually shielded as the sun moves across the sky. The assembly may include one or two elongate members in the form of an arch. Alternatively one end of the elongate member may be pivotally mounted while the other end is moveable relative to the ground, or both ends may be pivotally mounted. A wind shield (55) may be added in addition to the shield (12).
