<p>A device in connection with a capo for the guitar and similar stringed instruments, comprising a string depressing means (3) disposed transversely to the fingerboard (1) and strings (2) of the guitar and a clamp (4) rigidly united thereto. The string depressing means (3) and the clamp (4) form a two-armed lever (A) with a slidable tilting contact (6) for forming contact with the underside (1*) of the fingerboard (1) and with a tilting axis (B) disposed transversely to the latter. One arm of the lever (A) constitutes an operating arm (7) which extends from the tilting contact (6) towards the body of the guitar. When pressure is exerted on the operating arm (7) towards the underside of the fingerboard (1), the string depresssing means (3) pivots down towards the strings (2) and depresses them against an adjacent fret (5) to form a barre.</p> |
