<p>precious metal technology. SUBSTANCE: method is largely designed for treatment of alloys of gold with lead, tin, bismuth, and zinc but can also be used when processing gold-containing ores, concentrates, and concentration tails, in which above-indicated metals are present. Initial material is mixed with reagent consisting of alkali mixture (NaOH, KOH, LiOH) and metal (Na or K) nitrate or nitrite at weight ratio of material to alkali at least 2.5: 1 and material to nitrate or nitrite from 1:1 to 6:1. Mixture is heated to at least 400 C and matured, whereupon treated with water, filtered and processed to isolate gold.
