technology and equipment of concentration processes; applicable in automatic lump radiation separation of magnesite ores. SUBSTANCE: method includes radiation of ore discrete lumps by X-ray radiation, registration of secondary x-ray radiation consisting of characteristic radiation of calcium, iron and primary radiation scattered by lumps, formation of resulting electric signal, its comparison with preset threshold values and separation of ore lumps by comparison result. Formed in spectrum of primary radiation is additional peak of characteristic X-ray radiation from target-radiator with quanta energy of 8-10 keV. Resulting criterion of separation is formed by comparison of two analytical parameters with preset thresholds of separation. The first analytical parameter is determined by relation of calcium characteristic radiation to primary scattered radiation and the second analytical parameter by relation of iron characteristic radiation to primary scattered radiation. EFFECT: produced high-quality grades of magnesite and removed ore part containing intolerable quantity of harmful impurities. 3 dwg
