An invention relates to a method for forming a multilayer decorative and protective coatings which are applied to different surfaces (for example, metal, glass, ceramics, porcelain or plastic surfaces). In accordance with the present invention, after the surface to be treated has been cleaned, the first coating layer, being formed of powder or liquid material, is applied for the structure forming. After the coating is processed with heat treatment or drying, then the second coating layer in vacuum is applied making use of the selected cathode material necessary to obtain the required colour. The third coating layer which is applied with the powder or liquid lacquer spray may provide hardness for the coating. After giving a coating of lacquer, product is processed with subsequent heat treatment or drying, not allowing temperature be higher then temperature of first layer processing. Colours and shades of the coating can be controlled also when third layer has been applied. It is provided by saturation the transparent lacquer coating with shaded water solution by means of diffusion, besides its gloss and transparency is kept. Colour of the coating is controlled by formulation of solution's composition, but shade and intensity of colour is controlled by specifying the solution's temperature and product's treatment time in the solution.
