PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage decomposition device capable of preventing an agitating blade from being partially bent or broken when the agitating blade changes from the forward rotation to the backward rotation in the case of agitating granular bodies containing charged garbage and microorganisms. SOLUTION: In this garbage decomposition device provided with a dry decomposition tank 1 in which a lot of granular bodies where microorganisms propagate are housed and a rotary paddle for agitating and mixing the garbage and the granular bodies in order to promote the decomposition of the garbage charged into the decomposition tank 1 by the microorganisms, the rotary paddle is provided with a rotating shaft 3 repeating the forward rotation and the backward rotation and plural blades fixed to the rotating shaft 2 and repeating the forward rotation and the backward rotation, and the blade 3 of the plural blades 3 arranged near the inner wall surface of the decomposition tank which the end part thereof in the axial direction comes into contact with or is opposite to has such a shape that centering an orthogonal line perpendicular to the central line of the rotating shaft, it symmetrically expands toward the inner wall surface 1a from the orthogonal line in the diagonal direction.
