PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable printing of specific hidden information without deteriorating the quality by forming a transparent pattern of the information inherent to a recording apparatus with a transparent detection liquid recognizable by an external means at a position outside the image formation area. SOLUTION: A pattern forming means is provided in a printer 20 for forming a transparent specific pattern of the information inherent to a recording apparatus, such as a manufacturer, a type, a production lot, and a production date at a position outside the image formation area of a paper, such as a margin part. The pattern forming means capable of forming hidden information recognizable with an external means easily, comprises a tank 70 for storing a detection liquid, a carriage 30 for supporting the same, an ink ejecting head 28, and a controlling system. The transparent specific pattern is formed with a detection liquid containing a composition which absorbs a light of a specific wavelength outside a visible light area. The specific pattern can be recognized easily according to analysis of the spectral characteristic with a spectrophotometer. As the composition, for example, an ultraviolet ray absorbing agent can be used. |
