PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a driving force control that is agreeable to the driver by accurately calculating a running resistance to serve as a reference. SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises driving torque calculating means 2, reference road load calculating means 3, and a target driving force correction control means 4. The driving torque calculating means 2 is for calculating a vehicle driving torque TRQALL. The reference road load calculating means 3 calculates a vehicle reference road load RLDTRQ with a vehicle speed VSP as an input. The target driving force correction control means 4 calculates a target driving force cTd, based on the difference between the driving torque TRQALL and reference road load RLDTRQ. The relationship between the input and output of the reference road load calculating means 3 is determined, based on the road load measured in the steady running state on a road of 0% gradient.
