PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for constructing a mechanical parking facility capable of easily assembling a storage box even when a storage space and a carry-in route are very narrow, and a traveling truck. SOLUTION: A traveling truck 20 of a mechanical parking facility comprises a beam 21 having a projecting portion 21a projecting over the truck width in the direction orthogonal to the traveling direction indicated by an arrow, a support body 22 to support the beam 21, and a hoisting machine 23 moving on the beam 21 which are mounted on a traveling truck body 20a in an attachable/detachable manner using fixing pieces 24 such as bolts and nuts, and travels by wheels 29 on rails 28. The hoisting machine 23 such as a hoist is mounted on the traveling truck 20, members of a storage box are easily carried making use of a traveling passage necessary for traveling the traveling truck, the members for the storage box are suspended immediately above a storage box installation position, and assembled, and thus, no special heavy machines need be carried in the parking facility for execution.
