PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive a belt at a constant speed regardless of variance in thickness, in a driving mechanism for an endless belt. SOLUTION: An endless conveyance belt 5 is tensed tightly by idle rollers 6, 7, 8 and a tension roller 9. A driving roller 10 is brought into pressure contact with the portion tensed linearly between the idle roller 7 and the tension roller 9. With a pinch roller 11 mounted so as to face the driving roller 10, the pinch roller 10 permits the driving roller 10 to be brought into pressure contact with the conveyance belt 5. It is thus possible to move the conveyance belt 5 at a constant speed by bringing the driving roller 10 into pressure contact with the linearly-tensed portion of the conveyance belt 5.
