PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous sheet feeder for a paper sheet printer capable of stably and certainly feeding sheets. SOLUTION: This continuous sheet feeder for a paper sheet printer for continuously feeding sheets 2 has height sensors (first detection means) 11a, 11b for detecting a height position of the uppermost surface front end of the sheets 2; elevating drive motors (elevating drive means) 5, 23 for moving the sheets 2 up and down; and a controller 10 for driving the elevating drive motors 5, 23 to move the sheets 2 up and down according to detected signals from the height sensors 11a, 11b such that the uppermost surface position of the sheets 2 is within a paper feed limit permissible range.
