PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery storage device reducing the area for its installation and capable of effectively cooling batteries. SOLUTION: Batteries 1 stacked as two of upper and lower stages are disposed in a device body 21 and lower ventilation passages 22a are formed in clearances between the batteries 1 arranged at the lower stage and in clearances between the inner surface of the side wall of the device body 21 and the batteries 1. Upper ventilation passages 22b are formed in clearances between the batteries 1 arranged at the upper stage and in clearances between the inner surface of the side wall of the device body 21 and the batteries 1. The batteries 1 constituting the upper and lower stages are supported by support members 23-25 in an offset condition so that the batteries 1 do not vertically overlap, so that the lower ventilation passages 22a communicate with the lower ends of vents in the batteries 1 arranged at the upper stage and the upper ventilation passages 22b communicate with the upper ends of vents in the batteries 1 arranged at the lower stage. |
